Learn how to upload a portfolio on our platform
In this tutorial, we are going to upload a portfolio. And in this particular case, I have a new prospect who has sent me a list of their holdings. So from the portfolios page, click on create new portfolio from here, you have the option of uploading. A CSV file or manual entry. Again, we're uploading on this tutorial.
So from here, I'd like to point out some important pieces of information. About the identifier column and the quantity column. On the identifier column, the header should either be ticker or symbol in the quantity column. You can see there is, Additional dollars. Number of shares, percentage weight. If you wanted to use those as the headers.
So from the file that my new prospect sent me. It is a numbers file. So I will need to change this to a CSV file. And looking at those identifier. Headers for my columns. They are already labeled appropriately. For the identifier column, I've got ticker. For the quantity, I have dollars. So those will work at this point. I just need to change it to a CSV file.
So exporting. To CSV. If you were not on a iMac or Mac book, you would be able to save as. And then choose CSV rather than Xcel.
And I'm just going to, export or save this to my desktop so I can easily grab it. So back on the create new portfolio page, I'm going to name this portfolio.
And choose the file.
Upload.
And there you have it. There is the portfolio we just uploaded. They will appear at the top of the list of all of your portfolios.
